Craving for jackfruit

I am craving for fresh jackfruit. I am looking forward to eating jackfruit this weekend. For those who do not know what jackfruit is. Jackfruit is a big, oval fruit with spikes on the skin. It has a very strong smell and taste when it is ripe. I like it when it is ripe. It is very juice and sweet. Its scientific name is Artocarpus heterophyllus. Here in the Philippines, we call it Langka or Nangka. We include jackfruit as one of the ingredients in binignit, halo-halo, and toron and other native delicacies. We cooked the seeds too – we either boil or grill it. It is very tasty. Nowadays, you can find Jackfruit Nangka/Langka in sherbet, ice cream, and even in cans.
