I’m not the type of person who takes pictures during holidays, birthdays or in any occasions for keeping but I only treasured the moment celebrating with my love ones. I usually see pictures taken by my families and friends and not trying to ask them a copy for my self. Now that I have my own family, things change. I have my own camera beside me just to take pictures with my only son. I don’t want to miss anything all his first activities. I took pictures a lot already and never had a chance of putting them in an album to make it last. I have the idea on how to keep it in a photo album or in a photo books. I want it to be more personalize so I can show it with pride to my friends. Good thing I found this site that offers a good photo printing. What is the difference between lager and pilsner beer? Well, lager beer is produced by slow bottom fermentation and aged under refrigerated for several months. In Germany lagern means ” to store ” ” or storehouse. Pilsner beer is a light lager beer with a strong flavor of hops. It originated in Pilsen (Plzen), a city in Czech Republic, in 1877. Being a delicate golden lager, it was a dynamic departure from the dark, sweet beers that were common at the time. Pilsner beer gets its flavor from pale, malts, soft water, German or Czech hops, and lager yeast. These pale malts are dried up for shorter of period of time and at lower temperature than dark malt. The result is a beer with a golden color. Pilsner is the most widely copied beer and is the world popular beer. All beers can define as either lager or ale. The difference is in brewing. Whether a beer is larger or ale depends on the yeast used and the temperature of the fermentation process. Larger ferments more slowly and at colder temperature than ale. Because the yeast settles to the bottom of the tank, it is called bottom-fermented beer. Ale tends to ferment rapidly and is referred to as top fermented. Ale tends to have higher alcohol content and to be heartier and darker than lager. Malt liquid is a beer that has too high an alcohol content by law to be labeled lager or ale. Malt liquor is 5 to 6 percent alcohol, while ale is 4 to 5 percent alcohol and lager is 3.5 percent alcohol. When most of the alcohol is removed from ale, it is called “ near beer” and has an alcohol content of one half of a percent.

Who was Valentine? The name valentine ( priest Valentio ) does not occur in the earliest list of roman. Valentine was a priest in Rome and He was apprehended, and to be beheaded, on February 14, about the year 270. Saint Valentine he’s remains still a mystery. One opinion is that he was a Roman martyred refusing to give up his Christian faith. Other historians said, that Saint Valentine was a temple priest, jailed for defiance during the reign of Claudius. Valentine really existed because archaeologists have unearthed a Roman catacomb and an ancient church dedicated to Saint Valentine. Pope Gelasius 1 first established the feast of Saint Valentine in 496. The greatest parts of his relics are now in the church of St. Praxedes. His name is celebrated as a martyr. Some say that Saints are not supposed to rest in peace; they’re expected to keep busy: to perform miracles, to intercede. One legend says, while awaiting his execution, Valentines restored the sight of his jailer’s blind daughter. Another legend says, before he’s execution he penned a farewell note to the jailer’s daughter, signing it, “From your Valentine.” He is the Patron Saint represented in pictures with birds and roses.

The origin and meaning of Valentines Day? In A.D. 270 the emperor Claudius 11 decided that married men made poor soldier because they did not want to leave their families to go war. So he issued a proclamation forbidding marriage. As a result, lovers went to Valentine a Christian bishop, who would marry them. When the emperor heard about this, he brought the bishop before him and attempted to convert him to roman paganism. Valentine in turn unwisely tried to covert Claudius to Christianity and was sentence to death for his imprudence. While in prison, valentine fell in love with the blind daughter of the jailer. He left her a farewell love note and sign it “ your valentine” and he was executed on February 14, some years later the catholic church proclaim him a saint. So we celebrate Saint Valentine’s Day, on February 14 dedicated the day of lovers.

Today we celebrating Valentine’s Day and the air are full of love. I notice that many couples spent their valentines at the mall having their dinner date. My wife and I we celebrate it, attending mass this afternoon and have a simple dinner date with our son. Anyway, how Valentines Day got started? Why Valentines Day is symbolized or associated with Cupids? Have you ever wondered why? When I was a kid, I used to believe that cupids are part of it. The story of Cupid is about love. Cupid fell in love with Psyche, a mortal. They got married with the condition that Psyche is not allowed to see Cupid. Until one day, she defied this condition but Cupid ran away from her. Consequently, she wanted to be reunited with Cupid. So, Psyche paid a visit to Venus, Cupid’s mother. She did several trials and tests. And she passed. As a reward, Venus reunited Psyche and Cupid. Sooner or later, Cupid and Psyche gave birth to a child named pleasure. So before this day ends, don’t waste time-spent time with your family or friends, life is so short. Make this day meaningful to others.

Love is in the air; I was talking about the month of February. Valentine’s day, this word refers to a variety of different feelings, attitudes and especially the love to our love one’s. My wife and I usually spent at home preparing some our favorites dishes with candle lights, exchanging love letters and we do this every Valentine’s Day for 6 years now.

Did you know that the earliest cookies were made in seventeenth-century in Persia (now Iran)? Which was one the first countries that produce sugar? The word cookies however come from the Dutch word “koekje”. It is pronounce “kook-yah” and means a little cake.

The Germans called cookies “keks” and the Italian call them “biscotti”. One of the most popular cookies on the United State is the chocolate chip cookie. Most people don’t realize that it is a relatively modern cookie. Cookie is accidentally made by semisweet chocolate bars and mixed up with the dough, the chocolate mixed together with the dough resulting in all chocolate cookie. But the chocolate didn’t mixed with the dough and turn the baked cookies full of broken chocolates pieces. Thanks to Ruth Wakefield who accidentally made the cookies and she named her new creation “Toll House Cookies”.
